SCEA’s ‘AI-Bot’ needs a name – staff competition ends this weekend!

With more than 40 entries already submitted by SCEA staff from across our schools, the competition to name the new ‘AI-Bot’ will draw to a close this weekend – get your final entry in today!

What is an AI-Bot?

Imagine a person whom you go to for all the answers in your school – and now you can access their knowledge through a ‘chat-bot’ feature on the new SCEA Intranet!

That’s right – Dr Gregg Weaver’s knowledge of educational policy could be yours to access 24 hours a day, 7 days a week!

Imagine that – SCEA’s Risk, Governance & Assurance Manager, Mr Paul Fettis’s encyclopaedic knowledge around standard operating procedures available at your beck and call whenever you need to know about risks that may arise in your setting.

You can gain insight from your Principal, who has worked through school policies to ensure you have the best knowledge of how your school should be functioning today.

You can even have those questions answered that our ‘People’ team receive on a daily basis – about sick leave, Working With Children checks, and teacher registration requirements!

How do we give this ‘bot’ a name?

We open it up to staff for creative suggestions, with the promise of a Koorong voucher for the winning entry!

There are definitely some funny entries, some well-thought-out entries, and some that may be shortlisted once the competition closes on Monday, 27 October 2025.

That’s right, there’s a prize on the line!

For your chance to win, your name suggestion must be submitted before Monday, so put in an entry today here: AI Bot Naming Competition.

Yes, you can enter multiple times!

As the official rollout of the new SCEA-wide Intranet draws closer (the scheduled release date for the Intranet is Term 1, 2026), the Intranet integration team led by Mr Paul Fettis (Manager of Risk, Governance and Assurance – SCEA) and assisted by Miss Lauren Hays (Marketing and Partnerships – SCEA) is busy working behind the scenes to ensure that the new platform is ready to launch across all SCEA staff devices.
