You may remember a previous SCEA News article which highlighted the achievements of both Mr Frank Bowyer and Mr David White as they reflected on their time as Business Managers for Swan Christian College (SCC) and Ellenbrook Christian College (ECC) respectively. The link to that article is here.
The search for new Business Managers for both of these schools commenced before the mid-year break and now the interviews and discussions have been completed. The new Business Manager for Ellenbrook Christian College is Mrs Kylie Smith and the new Business Manager for Swan Christian College is Dr Ray Bartell.
The selection panel for Ellenbrook Christian College comprised:

- Mr Michael Pitman, Principal of Ellenbrook Christian College (not pictured)
- Mr Rowan Joubert, Chief Financial Officer
- Dr Thelma Perso, Chief Education Officer
Mrs Kylie Smith will begin as the Business Manager for Ellenbrook Christian College in Term Four after serving at Southern Hills Christian College for the past ten years. Mrs Smith has spent more than fourteen years with SCEA, serving at the SCEA Head Office and at Kalamunda Christian School before her time at Southern Hills. During her time at Southern Hills, Mrs Smith has been a part of the enrolment growth with Principal Mr Paul Beacham speaking fondly of her decade at Bedfordale this week:
“Kylie Smith has been an incredible asset to Southern Hills over the last decade, displaying integrity, intelligence and the Christian ethics of stewardship and compassion in every situation we have faced. She leaves us now with enrolment enquiries at their highest point in years and we are glad that she is still playing an active role in the SCEA family with Mike Pitman and the team up at Ellenbrook .”

Dr Ray Bartell will begin as Business Manager for Swan Christian College in Term Four after recently completing his term as Executive Officer for Alta-1 Australia. Dr Bartell has served on numerous local and international boards and held executive positions with the Baptist Union of Papua New Guinea (Director of Education) and Kingsway Christian College (Business Manager). He brings a wealth of knowledge in Christian education to SCC after consulting in the sector and completing a Doctorate of Philosophy in Education focusing on community development and school governance.
Both of the candidates will have a handover period with the existing Business Managers before starting in their new roles in Term Four.
We consider it a wonderful blessing that such capable and outstanding candidates have been appointed to these roles.
