Are you an avid SCEA News reader who has followed the SCEA Managed Device Program rollout each step of the way?
It seems that you are not the only one – with The West Australian newspaper contacting the SCEA Central Office recently to report on the success of the program!
The question: What can schools do to reduce the negative effects of device use on young people?

The primary aim of this program is to create a safe, streamlined learning environment for SCEA students using standard devices and control software.
Dr Graeme Cross (Chief Executive Officer – SCEA) spoke to WA’s daily paper to elucidate the benefits of managed devices.
He shared SCEA’s hope of positively shaping students’ associations with digital technologies by creating a safe, distraction-free learning environment.
“We don’t want to set up a situation where students actually become so reliant on these devices that it creates some form of addiction,” Dr Cross said.
The article also featured young SCEA students from Ellenbrook Christian College, who were given the opportunity to pose for the cameras and show off their new managed devices.

Standing out on the sunny ECC grounds, students Jayden, AJ, Taylor, and Ashvi were all smiles for The West Australian’s photographer. There were more than a few compliments given about the students’ natural talent!
