New and improved Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is now in place for 2026

As the school year begins, it is important to put processes in place to ensure that our mental health and well-being are maintained and promoted in every part of our lives. The People team at Central Office have worked hard over the Christmas break to improve the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for all SCEA employees across our schools and offices.

From 1 January 2026, SCEA staff will have access to six EAP sessions per calendar year, doubling the previous allocation of three sessions.

A new booking process will help the People team to better understand usage and ensure a smooth administration of this system.

When scheduling an EAP session, staff will be required to provide their employee code. This code is untraceable and used solely for internal tracking of appointment numbers; no personal data or session details will be linked to it.

If you have any questions or need assistance with your employee code, please reach out to people@scea.wa.edu.au

Where can I find my unique employee code?

  • Log in to ESS
  • Go to “My Details”
  • Your Employee Code will be displayed near the top of the page alongside your personal information

How confidential is EAP?

Your information remains confidential.

No personal details or session content are shared with SCEA. The only item used for administration is your TASS employee code, which is not identifiable and simply helps us track the number of appointments being used across the organisation.

What can I use EAP for?

The EAP is designed to support your whole life—not just work-related challenges.

You can access the service for anything that affects your well-being, including personal, family, emotional, financial, or workplace concerns. The goal is to provide confidential support that helps you flourish both personally and professionally.

Do I need to pay anything?

No, as an SCEA employee, you have access to 6 fully funded EAP sessions with any one of our seven EAP providers.

Do I need to tell my manager?

No. You do not need to inform your manager when accessing the EAP.

Booking and attending sessions is entirely your choice, and your participation remains confidential.

When do I go?

You can access the EAP whenever something in your life, personal or work-related, is affecting your wellbeing.

You don’t need to wait for a crisis. Many people reach out when they notice early signs of stress, feel overwhelmed, want support navigating a situation, or simply need space to talk things through.

The EAP is there to help you stay well and flourish, not just to respond when things are difficult.

The list of EAP providers for SCEA is available by clicking the PDF poster below. These posters will also be displayed in SCEA schools and the Central Office this year.
