Everything you need to know about the SCEA Commissioning Service – Friday 1 March 2024

The opportunity to come together as a SCEA community becomes a reality in just two weeks’ time, with new and existing staff spending a morning at Riverview Church.

This is one of the highlights of the year for our SCEA staff, as we come together to praise and thank God for what he is doing in our schools each day.

For those who have been a part of SCEA for a number of years, the event will be a shortened version of our normal ‘SCEA Celebration Day’ format.

For the first time, the event will be held at Riverview Church (riverviewchurch.com.au), which is located on Thorogood Street in the suburb of Burswood.

Parking will be a short walk away at Charles Paterson Park, and we are very grateful to Mr Matt King (Head of Swan Trade Training Centre) for his team’s assistance with the parking in the morning.

For those who need their ‘coffee fix’ early in the morning, the barista service known as ‘Milk & Honey’ will be ready to serve from 7:30 am, and there will be self-serve arrangements and water-filling services for bottles as well.

The auditorium will open, and the Official Welcome from our SCEA Board Chair, Mr Craig Clark, will start at 8:30 am, followed by the worship from a combined worship band made up of staff from Swan Christian College and Mundaring Christian College.

The morning program is listed below:

There will also be a light morning tea following the formalities before staff head back to their school locations at the direction of their Principal. Our hope is that this is a morning where we can connect with SCEA staff from our own campus and other campuses as we fellowship together and celebrate the great year ahead for Christian education in our schools.
