STTC’s ‘Try-A-Trade’ Day allows young tradies to learn from the best!

Students in Year 10 from Swan Christian College (SCC) and nearby schools recently tried their hand at Electrotechnology, Construction and Heavy Metal Fabrication for Try-A-Trade Day at the Swan trade Training Centre (STTC).

It was a great way for students to find out more about pursuing a career in trades, with all of the STTC staff capable teachers who have experience in their relative fields of expertise.

The STTC provides quality trade and hospitality training in an innovative and supportive school-based environment. Students can choose to complete a Certificate II in Building in Construction, Electrotechnology, Engineering (Heavy Fabrication) or Certificate III in Hospitality at the Trade Centre.

The Head of STTC, Mr Matthew King, was overwhelmed by the positive response from SCEA schools and external students:

“It’s fantastic,” said Matt, “and I think it speaks to quality of our people here. It is a safe Christian environment in which girls and boys can know that they will learn from the best, be treated with respect and enjoy the ride along the way! That’s what sets us apart.”
