Full STEAM ahead for selected Ellenbrook students

Most of us are aware of the train line about to be built through the centre of Ellenbrook Christian College. While this may seem like somewhat of an inconvenience to Mr Pitman’s Art classes or Mr Taylor’s Sport classes, the upside is that a number of our secondary students now have the opportunity of a lifetime!

The successful contractor for the train line is Laing O’Rourke, an international company that is dedicated to seeing young women learn and grown in the area of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering And Mathematics fields).

This learning program will track a number of female students from Year 9 (2022 cohort) and then Year 10 (2023 cohort) at Ellenbrook Christian College over the next two years as they learn the basics of these exciting new industries.

As you will see from the photos below, the students even learnt how to build bridges using marshmallows and toothpicks!
