‘Roadshows’ give school staff the opportunity to see the unified branding for SCEA schools

Following successful meetings with the SCEA Board, the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and the Association members, Dr Graeme Cross (Chief Executive Officer – SCEA) has visited each SCEA school and the Central Office over the past fortnight to speak with SCEA staff about the CHARIS branding update.

CHARIS branding update meetings across SCEA schools (with the Kalamunda Christian School meeting scheduled for Thursday, 2 April)

During these visits, staff from across the SCEA sites have had the opportunity to hear directly about the project progress and what it will mean for our schools moving forward.

The branding work has reached a unified conclusion, shaped through staff and parent focus groups and consultation across multiple stakeholder groups over the past twelve months.

The result of these discussions and design work is a common logo and a common set of CHARIS virtues across all SCEA sites – reflecting who we are as a Christian organisation seeking to glorify God through all of our different endeavours.

The branding work has been a collaborative process with the creative agency ‘303’, which has worked with SCEA Marketing to create a logo that reflects the Bible, the Christian cross, the heart impacted by the gospel, and the ‘shield of faith’ – central to our corporate identity.

During the roadshows, staff were introduced to early brand expressions and the CHARIS virtues in context, with mock-ups demonstrating how the identity may appear across different school environments. These concepts were developed collaboratively by 303 and SCEA’s Lead Designer, Mrs Kirsten Page:

“This evolution of the SCEA and school logos captures both the rich history of our organisation and our mission, while creating a contemporary look that unifies our schools and will remain relevant for years to come. Keeping Christ central to the heart of our work is essential, and this design captures that clearly.”

As the project progresses, the CHARIS brand will establish a unified and recognisable identity across all SCEA schools.

This will strengthen our shared purpose while allowing each school community to maintain its uniqueness.

It will also promote clearer communication, strengthen our gospel-centered mission, and showcase our unity as one Association with a common vision.

Answering your questions

When will I see this applied to my school campus?
The new branding is scheduled to be rolled out across all SCEA sites by the beginning of 2027.

When will the student uniform transition to the new logo and/or colours occur?
Uniform changes will be managed at the school level and are expected to take place over several years, allowing for a gradual practical transition.

Will the cost of the rollout be deducted from our teaching budgets?
No. The CHARIS brand rollout will be funded through a centralised fund, which has already been set aside as part of the budgeting process.

Below are the design concepts, presented by Dr Cross during the CHARIS branding update meetings. Please remember that these are concepts to help us visualise the new brand, not serve as final designs. Click the button below to view your school’s presentation.
