The Southern Hills community recently took the opportunity to welcome Mr Hugh Jones MLA to their Awards Assembly to honour students celebrating achievements in academic and sporting pursuits.
Mr Jones is no stranger to the Bedfordale campus, having presented the ‘Long Tan’ awards at the Annual Awards nights in December each year as a Commissioned Officer in the Royal Australian Navy before entering parliament in 2021.
This was the first meeting between Mr Jones and Principal Mr Brett Costin, with Mr Jones keen to discuss the proposed Performing Arts Centre building project, which has just received approvals through the City of Armadale.
SCEA schools and the Central Office have worked closely with our political stakeholders and counterparts from each region, with the final SCEA school, Beechboro Christian School (BCS), expected to be visited by Mr Dave Kelly MLA before the end of the year.
