Northshore Christian Grammar School (NCGS) is buzzing with excitement!
Prepare yourself for a rare sighting: that’s right, David Attenborough, it’s a giant bee answering the phone at NCGS – and he’s buzzing about the latest telephone upgrade due for installation soon!

The new telephones from Cisco are just around the corner, with the upgrade set to take place soon – just in time for the booking season of NCGS’s first musical – Madagascar Junior!
Reliable communication will be critical for the many moving parts involved in staging a major event, and we have the upgraded telephone system that will ensure the NCGS team can field calls about last minute ticket bookings.
This network enhancement is part of the broader SCEA-wide telephone rollout, a strategic upgrade designed to strengthen communication infrastructure across all schools in our Association.
The Northshore upgrade marks another key milestone in the project, and it comes just as the school prepares to launch its highly anticipated musical production: Madagascar Jr.
Supporting the Stage – and the School
Running from 22–24 May, Madagascar Jr. promises a vibrant and energetic performance featuring a large ensemble of students in the cast, crew, and support roles. Coordinating a production of this scale requires seamless communication between staff, students, and parents, from rehearsal schedules and costume changes to ticket sales and show logistics.
Back to the phones….
Once installed, the new Cisco system will support staff by providing clear and reliable phone connections throughout the school.
Whether it’s a parent confirming performance times, an office staff member updating volunteers, or a last-minute message reaching the backstage crew, the NCGS bees can make and take calls with complete clarity now that their phones are being upgraded.
Investing in Our Schools
This upgrade is part of SCEA’s broader commitment to improving school operations and ensuring that staff have the tools to support learning, lead effectively, and engage with families and the wider community.

As Northshore prepares to “move it, move it” [dance lyric from the production] with their Madagascar cast, the new phone system will quietly play its part behind the scenes, ensuring that everything from backstage calls to daily school operations can run smoothly.
Stay tuned for upcoming upgrades at more SCEA schools in the next few months.
If you’re in the Northshore later this month, don’t miss the chance to get a ticket and enjoy the show!
NCGS Principal Mr Stuart Chisholm was asked by our roving reporter this week as to whether he is the mystery bee in the costume or not:
“To be a bee, or not a bee – that is the question! That’s a bit of Shakespeare with my Northshore spin on it – just in case you’re not a fan of Hamlet!” said Mr Chisholm while teaching his regular Indonesian language class.
Tickets for Madagascar Jr. are available now at TryBooking.
