ANZAC Day was originally devised to honour the servicemen and women who served in the Gallipoli campaign (the first engagement in the First World War, which took place from 1914–1918), but it has now expanded to include all those who have served under the flags of Australia and New Zealand since then.
ANZAC Day is an opportunity for our school students to gather as one people, celebrating the concept of sacrifice for the good of those around us.
