A big thank you to everyone who attended our SCEA Commissioning Service on Friday, 1 March 2024.
Much of the feedback provided by our SCEA staff this week has been overwhelmingly positive, with speeches from Dr Graeme Cross and Mr Jordan Thyer providing food for thought for our gathered staff.

The SCEA Milestone Awards were presented by some of our school Principals and our SCEA Board Chair Mr Craig Clark.
SCEA asked Dr Tony Buti MLA to present the 25-Year Award to Mr Rob Prestwidge, and he even coaxed Mr Prestwidge into the famous ‘dinosaur dance’ for all of us to see!
You will also see the photo below of SCEA’s founders, Bill and Joan Grosser with the Education Minister. What a wonderful legacy they have left for all of us who serve in SCEA schools.

It is clear from this graphic that the collective worship was a highlight, the fellowship with other Christian staff across schools was magnificent and the need to come together to praise and thank God is alive and well in our SCEA schools and the SCEA Head Office.
The venue of Riverview Church provided ample seating, quality Audio-Visual (AV) resources and a wonderful café to grab a cup of tea or coffee.
A number of SCEA schools utilised the facility for the remainder of the day for their Professional Development (PD) opportunities.
The parking team at Charles Paterson Park (Mr Matt King and the Swan Trade Training staff) were early, excellent and extremely servant-hearted in their approach to this task. We often overlook these humble workers, but their contribution to the event flow needs to be acknowledged. This team is excellent, and Mr King and his team are to be congratulated for their work in this area.
Looking forward to 2025, the hope is to secure the Riverview location again, with the date of 28 February 2025 set in the SCEA calendar as the day for the SCEA Celebration Day 2025. This will be a full-day event, with Riverview having several breakout spaces for staff development sessions in the afternoon.
