Dr Thelma Perso to retire at year’s end

After eight years of outstanding service as a staff member at SCEA, Dr Thelma Perso has decided it is time to retire and will be leaving us at the end of this year. As part of her transition, she has asked to reduce from full-time to part-time for the remainder of her time with us.

To assist Thelma while she is working in this part-time arrangement, Ms Michelle Schouten (Head of Senior Studies & Curriculum at Ellenbrook Christian College) has been asked to provide some support for one day per week in the areas of policy writing and curriculum development. We are grateful that Michelle has agreed to accept this secondment request.

Later in the year we will celebrate and acknowledge Thelma’s career and the wonderful contribution she has made at SCEA and more broadly within Australia’s education sector.

The position of Chief Education Officer will be advertised over the next few weeks and we hope to announce the outcome of the selection process early in Term Three.

If you happen to have contact with Thelma in the weeks and months ahead, please make sure you thank her for the amazing contribution she has made during her time with SCEA.
