ECC Combats Social Distancing With Open-Air Worship

No staff meetings? No problem!

‘What are we without our worship?’ says Ellenbrook Science teacher Mr Joel Pitman.

Thursday mornings have changed for the staff at Ellenbrook Christian College. The customary staff meetings have converted to worship songs under the covered verandah as early-bird students arriving around 8am see their teachers singing songs of praise together.

The general public driving and walking along Santona Boulevard can even hear the worship band lyrics as they play their final refrain before Principal Mr Mike Pitman addresses the staff.

‘It’s very encouraging to sing with the entire staff before a day of work,’ says a shy and retiring guitarist as he muses on the words of the worship song just sung.

‘Where else would we be allowed to enjoy something like this?’ says Mr Pitman.

Food for thought.
