Term Four Holiday Travel Advice

Many staff will now be aware of the different states and territory openings and closings, quarantines and regulations as a result of COVID-19 travel protocols.

While we continue to enjoy lockdown-free arrangements here in Western Australia, the case in other states of Australia is quite different. As such, the travel advice for the upcoming holidays is similar to that provided in previous school breaks.

With respect to staff travelling interstate during the holiday period, please be aware of the risks:

  • If the borders close and a SCEA staff member is unable to work because they have been forced to isolate for 14 days, the period of absence will be viewed as ‘COVID-19 Leave without Pay’.
  • If the reason for travel is not a vacation but a serious and urgent family matter, ‘COVID-19 Personal Leave’ may be accessible – but this will need to be approved by the Principal and Chief Executive Officer.
