Postgraduate Study options for SCEA employees

In recent weeks, a number of SCEA leaders and others who are aspirants have requested advice around postgraduate study options for SCEA employees.

There is a great need for SCEA to develop leaders capable of entering senior roles within Christian schools throughout WA and beyond.

If this is something stirring within you, you might want to consider entering a postgraduate program with a Christian tertiary provider and be supported financially by SCEA.

Within the current Enterprise Agreement, SCEA has committed to covering 50% of the costs associated with the completion of Masters-level study if it is undertaken with one of Australia's Christian tertiary providers.  Many of these courses bring together the scholarly literature associated with the relevant discipline (education and leadership) and theology.

There are some SCEA staff members who have expressed an interest in embarking on this journey together.  If there are sufficient people interested, an approach could be made to one of the nationally recognised providers to tailor a Master of Education (Leadership) program to the meet the needs of the individuals involved and SCEA.

If this is something that is of interest to you, please contact Mr Andrew Johnston at Ellenbrook Christian College.  He will be compiling a list of potential candidates and exploring all study options.
