Postgraduate popularity with aspirational SCEA staff

In our last edition of SCEA News, the article advertising postgraduate studies for SCEA staff was highly popular and generated a significant amount of interest with motivated staff members.

As a result, a number of people have asked for more information regarding this initiative.

If you are considering postgraduate studies with a Christian tertiary provider, you might want to consider being supported financially by SCEA and joining other like-minded individuals across SCEA in this activity.

Within the current Enterprise Agreement, SCEA has committed to covering 50% of the costs associated with the completion of Masters-level study if it is undertaken with one of Australia's Christian tertiary providers.  Many of these courses bring together the scholarly literature associated with the relevant discipline (education and leadership) and theology.

There are some SCEA staff members who have expressed an interest in embarking on this journey together.  If there are sufficient people interested, an approach could be made to one of the nationally recognised providers to tailor a Master of Education (Leadership) program to the meet the needs of the individuals involved and SCEA.

If this is something that is of interest to you, please contact Mr Andrew Johnston at Ellenbrook Christian College.  He will be compiling a list of potential candidates and exploring all study options.
