Friday November 22nd was a special day for those who call Kalamunda Christian School home. The school hosted the annual Grandparents and Grand Friends Day.
“Grandparents Day is always one of our favourite special events at Kalamunda. It’s so heart-warming seeing the love between the children and their grandparents as they spend quality time together,” said Principal Michelle Cockrell as she posed for selfies with the seniors.
This was the first official event to be held under the new shade structure in the refurbished quadrangle.
“It is a fabulous place for everyone to gather together for musical performances and morning tea,” said Shona Michington, the School Librarian who was busy all morning with the large crowds of avid readers of all ages.
The musically gifted students played ably for their guests, showcasing the incredible music program that has made KCS a household name in the Hills for producing musical prodigies.
Plates of delicious morning tea were brought in by the parents and thoroughly enjoyed by both grandparents and students alike.
“It was a real treat for everyone,” said Angela Orchard, the School Communications Specialist.
“We usually find that grandparents drink large quantities of tea and coffee, and this year is no different!”
A variety of engaging activities were available in the classrooms for everyone to enjoy together and many of our guests visited the Annual Book Fair in the School Library with the students, ensuring that there will be many books under the Christmas tree this year for the students.
It was the perfect way to end the week and the photos show that this is an event to circle in the calendar for 2020!
