Our new independent Christian school at Shorehaven at Alkimos is preparing to open in 2017 after being given the green light by the State Government.

The Swan Christian Education Association (SCEA) received “Advanced Determination” for its proposed new school to be named Northshore Christian Grammar School.

“We are very glad to have received formal approval from the Government to open Northshore Christian Grammar School in 2017″, said the CEO of SCEA, Reverend Stephen Lee.

“Operating a local Grammar School, with a strong focus on academic fundamentals, will be a fantastic opportunity to serve the expanding local community at Shorehaven and along Perth’s northern beaches.

“We look forward to starting with classes onsite for students in Kindergarten through to Year 6. We’ll then grow each year, opening Year 7 in 2018, Year 8 in 2019, and so on until the school spans right to Year 12″, he said.

Northshore Christian Grammar School will be located on a 9.5 hectare site in Shorehaven at Alkimos, providing abundant space to house architect-designed learning spaces, as well as sporting and community facilities on a Nature Play based landscape.

Close proximity to Marmion Avenue will make the school easy to access for families of nearby estates, with the site only 10 minutes from Yanchep to the north or Butler to the south. The site will also be easily accessible from the proposed future Railway and Mitchell Freeway extensions.

News of the latest approval for the school’s development has been welcomed by local developers and Government.

City of Wanneroo Mayor Tracey Roberts said the new school would be a welcome addition to education in the region.

“Our City is a rapidly growing community and many families are choosing to settle in the northern coastal corridor.  Such growth creates the need for education facilities for children,” Mayor Roberts said.

“Families require access to a range of education options and another school in the City will certainly give parents more choice for their child’s education," she said.

The approval was also welcomed by PEET Limited, the developers of Shorehaven at Alkimos.

“A new independent school will be a welcome addition to the facilities being established at Shorehaven at Alkimos, which already include a childcare centre, medical centre and major retail precinct,” said Peet Limited Managing Director and CEO, Brendan Gore.

Enrolments for Norhtshore Christian Grammar School are due to open in September, 2015. For more information, visit our new schools page or contact us.
