On 17 November, current and past parents, students and teachers of Beechboro Christian School thanked outgoing Head of Campus Geoff Dunjey for 19 years of service in an afternoon celebration.

“Geoff’s conviction, wry sense of humour and strong relationships with students and staff will be missed, but he leaves Beechboro Christian School knowing that the impact he has made on so many lives and families will be felt for years to come”, said Mr Justin Krause, Principal of Beechboro Christian School and Ellenbrook Christian College

“My experience of Geoff is one of a fiercely loyal man when it comes to the school. Geoff has always had a very specific focus on the well-being of the school’s students and its family.

“In an ever changing world, where the next generation are predicted to have 12 to 15 jobs, it is wonderful to have worked with someone who has made such an investment in one community.

“The people in this room and the generations that came before are very grateful for all you have done” said Mr. Krause.

Geoff joined Beechboro Christian School as a teacher on 1 January 1998 and has served as a Senior Teacher and Head of Campus in his time at the school.

He played a major role in championing activities that celebrate the school’s Christian values and unique sense of community, such as Compassion Day, Harmony Day, the Bennett Springs Fair and countless others.

“I’m going to miss seeing all of you students growing in the gifts and talents that the Lord has given you,” Mr. Dunjey said as he addressed the event.

“There is no secret that I value building relationships as a top priority. Scripture teaches that when we put God first, blessings follow. In a school I believe that if we put relationships first, results follow.

“In looking forward, I know our school is very good hands and feel I can pass on with confidence the baton I was handed. I know you are committed to school success”, said Mr. Dunjey.

The event was also addressed by Erin Streeton, a graduate of Beechboro Christian School and 2016 Captain of Swan Christian College.

“You have impacted so many lives over the course of the last 19 years at Beechboro Christian School”, said Miss Streeton.

The event also featured a sentimental presentation from Dolly, star of the Kindergarten class’s puppet show; performances from the school’s choirs, a video presentation by students of ‘What we like about Mr D’, and a prayer from the School’s Chaplain, Rebecca Royle.

Mr Dunjey will finish at Beechboro Christian School at the end of this year and plans to continue in a leadership role in the education industry.

“You have impacted so many lives and we know God is not done with you yet”, said Erin Streeton.
