BCS students in ‘The West Australian’!

Students from Beechboro Christian School (BCS) have achieved outstanding NAPLAN results this year – and The West Australian newspaper came calling for a photo of some of the wonderful students!

The Year 3 cohort proudly surpassed state and national averages, despite troubling NAPLAN results across WA in the secondary years.

BCS Principal, Mr Michael Bolan, attributes this achievement to the strong learning support from the schools incredible staff and their teaching strategies in class:

“70% of our Year 3 students and 50% of our Year 5 students who sat the NAPLAN test are from a Language Background Other Than English (LBOTE). Our students have achieved excellent results – exceeding the national and state averages – because of our strong, specific teaching strategies and the support we are receiving from the Swan Christian Education Association.”

“These excellent NAPLAN results are not the only way that we measure our success, but its pleasing that our students are being well supported in their learning by our amazing staff. As a school, we celebrate the cultural diversity we see in our classes and in our community.”

Well done to the students and their teachers!
