A group of more than 100 staff from Swan Christian College (SCC) and representatives from other SCEA schools and the SCEA Office attended the Maali Mia Theatre at SCC on Thursday afternoon (12 May 2022) for the Commissioning of Dr Darnelle Pretorius.
Along with Mr Karl Dietrich’s string musician group, the worship band led by SCC staff made a joyful noise for the Lord and brought the gathered group together under the banner of praise.
A welcome and prayer from Dr Graeme Cross (Chief Executive Officer, SCEA) and subsequent prayers from Dr Thelma Perso (Chief Education Officer, SCEA) and Mr Mike Pitman (Principal, Ellenbrook Christian College) gave way to a joyful recording of Dion Dimucci’s ‘My Prayer For You’ and the presentation of an office plaque and flowers for SCEA’s newest Principal.
Dr Pretorius then spoke to the staff about building a legacy at Swan and realising the many blessings that the Lord has bestowed upon Swan over many years. Dr Cross concluded the meeting and the ensuing fellowship in the Maali Room was enhanced by the culinary talents of ‘Chef Rob’, Mr Matt King (Head of the Swan Trade Training Centre) and the Swan hospitality students.
