Our day-to-day operations, communications and marketing practices are frequently reviewed and updated so we can keep up to date with current best practice while respecting the privacy of those who use our services and access information from our websites and other sources. This notice and our privacy policies will therefore change from time to time without notice.
As with most websites and electronic services, information is collected when a user accesses our services. We, and service providers acting on our behalf, collect information so that we can better service our customers and market our services to visitors. An example of this is the use of Google Analytics code on the pages of our website which report to us the number of visitors accessing certain pages on our websites.
Information submitted to us, via our websites, online forms, by email, or other online and offline services is collected and maintained so we can better service our current, prospective and past customers. An example of this is our use of email addresses to send regular school newsletters to interested parties.
Cookies and Audience-based communication
Cookies are small files that web browsers store on your computer’s hard drive, that enable web pages to recognise your browser, and remember certain information. We use third party cookies to better understand our visitors and tailored marketing activities tailored to our visitors.
For example, 3rd party cookies such as those operated by Google’s Adwords and Analytics suite and Facebook’s Pixel service, allow service providers to show you ads across the internet, such as on the Google Display Network, or on social media services such as Facebook. This allows us to communicate with groups of users who have visited our websites in the past or shown interest in our services.
We partner with many organisations to deliver our services and your information may be managed by those organisations. When relevant, their privacy policies may be listed here:
The Digital Advertising Alliance and the Network Advertising Initiative both operate services where you can opt-out of the collection of usage data for interest-based advertising and other uses, by participating companies.
Our regular communications, such as SCEA and School newsletters, contain unsubscribe links where you can request to be removed from that channel of communication.
Updates to this policy.
As with all of our policies, the Association may, from time to time, review and update this policy to take account of changes to the Association’s operations and practices and to make sure it remains appropriate to the changing regulatory environment.
