Stephen Lee - BA(Theol) CPE MEdAdmin FAIM GAICD MACE
Stephen is a teacher and educational leader with more than 30 years experience in a diverse range of school contexts. He has held leadership positions in some of the most exclusive independent schools in Australia, including Principal of MLC Perth. He began his career in schools as a Chaplain and has developed Christian Education curriculum for a number of schools during his career. He personally initiated and founded Great Southern Grammar in regional WA as a Christian non-denominational day and boarding school. He is a Graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management. Outside of SCEA, he and his family attend Kallaroo Anglican Church and he serves as Chairman of the Board at Serpentine Jarrahdale Grammar School. Stephen has skills, experience and training in all aspects of schooling, in clinical and family counselling, professional mentoring, company management and Board governance.
Martin Bent - BA (Hons) MA MSc PhD
Martin is a writer, analyst and research leader. He had 20 years experience as a university academic prior to joining SCEA; teaching and leading research teams in over 20 countries for a wide range of multi-national companies and government agencies. As an Associate Professor at Curtin University his responsibilities included post-graduate research supervision and delivery of a major component of Australia’s reconstruction training for Iraq. Author of over 70 papers, books and articles, his particular specialisation has been in economic simulation modelling and optimisation. Martin has 12 years experience in the governance, culture and operation of Christian schools. He is currently a Director of the Australian Association of Christian Schools and a church elder.
Charles Ebden - CA ICMA
Charles is a Chartered Accountant, with about 15 years experience as a Partner and Director in accounting firms, responsible for audits, company secretarial, corporate advisory, tax and business consulting, including forensic accounting, valuations and Super Fund audits. In addition he qualified as a Cost and Management Accountant (UK) and has attended several short courses including Managing and motivating people, at the Graduate School of Business. He has served on Institute committees for many years. He has also spent about 15 years as Finance Director, CFO and company secretary in a variety of businesses, including a large retail and manufacturing group where he was the CFO responsible for listing the business internationally. He is currently a member of the organising committee for Christians in the marketplace, (CITM) and assists with the ministry at Victory Life International.
